I'm Not There

I'm Not There is Todd Haynes film about Bob Dylan, I watched this film at the Arts Picturehouse with my father who is a massive Dylan fan. What is interesting about this film is the use of Actors as each performer plays Dylan at a different stage of his life. Perhaps the most interesting performance is that of Cate Blanchett who plays Dylan as he was from 1965-66. The narrative structure of this film is non linear and has what some critics have described as a poetic strucutre, though I am not sure about this I am sure that if you have an interest in Dylan it is a film that would reward repeated viewings. The films cinematography is interesting and mixes colour and balck and white footage well.
